Before I begin a painting, I am reminded of Dorothy in Kansas. When the paint hits the canvas, I have landed in OZ. I like to pull the viewer into the work. Having the viewer "plant" their feet in the painting allows them to see all around it.
Although subject is important, the main purpose of my work is to provide the person viewing it, a sense of being in it. I like to do this with bright vivid colour providing a sense of movement and dance.
