Yay!

Iris 24x30 (Sold)

Yes, I know I have been lax as of late keeping up with my writings. I have finally completed this painting. Now that I have finished teaching my little "ducklings" for the season, I am beginning to open up my gallery for the summer.  I had a show for my students here at the gallery on June 16th. (Very well attended and I thank the many that did).  I wanted my students to experience a true artists show opening. I was so proud of them. They dressed up,  took the Arts and Entertainment reporter through the show and spouted off all the names of the artists they have studied this year. They proudly explained their work to her and handed out their bios that they had written. The picture appeared in the paper today and I rushed out to purchase copies. Wow! May seem like a small thing to some, but to me,  it was amazing. Hopefully the love of art will stay with them throughout their lives.

I'm a failure as a babysitter!

Landscape Oil on Canvas (Sold)

I was asked to feed some Webkinz this weekend while one of my dear young students was away on an annual weekend getaway. She left me her sign in details and explained just what to do. Oh the horror! There I was sitting in front of the laptop, all signed in, and lo and behold nothing seemed to work. I wasn't at all familiar with the "webkinz" world before this. If you aren't sure of this furry world, google it.  Now I,  for those of you that don't know me,  am extremely concerned with all living (and now apparently non living) creatures, so this is a real hot mess, stress out situation. I feel I have failed as a webkinz babysitter. Tonight as I lie in my bed I will angst about how those precious little furry creatures in Webkinz land are starving to death because I didn't feed them properly. On a good note though, they did receive the "gift of the day" which was some pickles. Perhaps that will keep them satiated until their owner returns. Oh please..I hope this keeps them alive!
